With the sailing of a new ship it is customary to break a bottle of champagne to christen the journey.

Dave, my husband, brought home a bottle of Prosecco for us so we could christen our new journey. It begins here. It's a little corner in our world that we will fill with life's little essentials. It's our own private space to fill with our adventures, our stories, our little furry family, and whatever else that we find essential in our lives. It's Life's Little Essentials.

Who am I? I'm Emily, a full time bartender, wife and pet mom. We have 2 rescue cats, Newton and Einstein and the cutest, most giant, most rambunctious puppy, Edison. We all live together in a cute little house in the Cleveland area.
Almost a year ago, I was introduced to these little vials of potential called essential oils. It was through a company named Young Living. As skeptical as I was, as much as I scoffed at myself, I dove in and bought a starter kit anyways. There was this little voice that kept whispering to try it. I knew for sure it was all pure craziness. I knew they didn't work and this was all hokie. But I did it. And you know what?

They worked!
And there I was, proving myself wrong.
And almost a year later, I have quite a little collection going on...
and I'm not sure what happened.
The effects this past year were subtle. It's very similar to using the oils. With a little bit of consistency, there is such a quiet, beautiful and subtle change, you don't even realize it's happening BUT before you know it, it's a year later and you find yourself in love with a company, their business practices, and their products. In fact, it's had such a positive impact in our life, we find ourselves wanting to share. We found ourselves wanting to share the little things in life we find essential and, yes, the essential oils themselves.

So, to begin this journey, let's crack open a bottle of Prosecco. Let's float a few cranberries to celebrate the season, throw in a sprig of rosemary for garnish and finish with a drop of Citrus Fresh.

Citrus Fresh is a blend of essential oils that comes with the starter kit. It's bright and fresh. It not only has orange, grapefruit, mandarin and tangerine but also a hint of spearmint too! It's the perfect little drop to add to this holiday drink. It pairs so well with the dry, crisp taste of Prosecco.
